Chocolate rum and raisin slices

Pinch and punch for the first day of the month So today is indeed November 1st and also the day after Halloween. I think we just had some trick-o-treaters yesterday which was kind of sad and off-putting, really. Why can't Halloween be big in Australia!? Why? Gosh, the more holidays the merrier!

Anyway, so I decided to indulge myself by baking a stack of Chocolate rum and raisin slices, filled with chocolate rum and raisin goodness! Somewhat similar to wet brownies except less rich and more fruity.

According to Drinks mixer, Rum is one of the oldest and most diverse liquors, originating in the Caribbean in the 17th century. It is made by distilling the juice extract from the sugarcane plant, or from molasses. Rum may be aged up to and over 30 years, although less than 15 years is more common, and almost all rum is aged in charred oak barrels, which gives the dark rum a golden to dark brown color over time.

But don't worry about your Blood alcohol level just yet, because these slices are roasted, there's almost no alcohol left in the end. Just taste and deliciousness in every bite!
