Black Soybean Pasta Fried Chicken |
This Chinese dish uses a popular Black Soy Bean paste aka Douchi used in many forms of Chinese cooking as a type of flavouring for all kinds of meats, seafood and vegetables.
Black Soy Bean gives off a distinctive aroma that is mouthwatering and helps accentuate the natural flavours of other ingredients.

Ingredients:
2 pieces Shallot (minced)
2 pieces Garlic (minced)
1 tablespoon Black Soy Bean Paste
1/2 Onion (sliced into wedges)
1/2 Green Capsicum (sliced into wedges)
1/2 Red Capscium (sliced into wedges)
500 grams Chicken Breast/Fillet (sliced)
1 tablespoon Oyster Sauce
2 tablespoon Sugar
2 tablespoon Oil
Seasoning (chicken):
1 tablespoon Shaoxing Wine
A Pinch of Salt and Pepper
Method Making Fried Chicken in Black Soybean Paste:
Steps 1.
Evenly cut the chicken breast/fillet into strips/pieces and marinate for 15 minutes with the seasoning. Lightly fry the chicken until almost well done.
Steps 2.
Heat the oil and fragrant the wok with black soy bean paste, garlic and shallot.
Steps 3.
Add onion, capsicums and chicken to the wok and cook till well done.
Steps 4.
Lastly, add the sugar and oyster sauce. Toss briefly before dishing up.
